Supporting CALM Zoo’s mission of inspiring conservation through meaningful connections with California’s native wildlife, an updated Rescue and Operations Hub has been envisioned to strengthen wildlife care operations and highlight the important role rescue and rehabilitation play in protecting native species.

Rescue and Operations Hub

With CALM Zoo’s focus on rescue, rehabilitating, and releasing local wildlife whenever possible, a Rescue and Operations Hub project plan has been developed to optimize expanding its animal care operations as well as showcase this important work to visitors.

Rescue and Operations Hub Overview

The Rescue and Animal Operations Hub will serve as a vital support facility for CALM Zoo’s expanding animal care programs, enhancing the zoo’s capacity to care for native wildlife while offering visitors a unique opportunity to learn about the rescue, rehabilitation, and release efforts that contribute to conservation across California.

New indoor small animal (mammals, birds, etc.) holding and staff support facility, including outdoor yards for maximum flexibility
