Protect CALM Zoo For Future Generations
CALM Zoo is pursing a 20+ Year vision to enhance wildlife care, update our facilities, and create a great experience for every visitor. These efforts will help CALM Zoo remain a local gem, educational zoo, and a vibrant gathering place for Kern County families.
CALM Zoo is seeking community support to fund its 20+ Year Master Plan and is currently collecting petition signatures to qualify a 1/8 of 1% local sales tax measure for the November 2026 Kern County ballot. By signing, you’re supporting the measure being added to the ballot so that all voters have the opportunity to weigh in. During the 2026 election, Kern County voters will decide whether to say yes or no to the measure.
Supporters are helping spread the word about the CALM Zoo Master Plan through conversations, social media, and community events; every person we reach makes a difference! If you’d like to help CALM Zoo collect signatures to qualify the measure for the 2026 ballot, please contact Meg Maitland, Senior Director at 661-546-8940 or email info@protectcamlzoo.org
